Flavors and aromas of wild cherry, cranberry and pomegranate are intermingled with spicy notes of tea, brown spice and hints of coffee. Complex and layered, this Pinot showcases the beautiful “Oregundian” style with ripe flavors and a full body.
Our pinot grapes were carefully harvested by hand in early September 2015, on a cold, dewy morning just after sunrise. We meticulously hand sorted, destemmed, and berry sorted the clusters before transferring them to stainless steel, open top micro-fermenters. Using specially selected yeast strains, the fermentations were gently punched down by hand daily before being carefully pressed in our state-of-the-art basket press. In order for the Pinot to develop its full potential, the wine was aged for 14 months in 100% French oak and then allowed to bottle condition for 12 months prior to release. No expense was spared in the creation of the first release of Pinot Noir from Naumes Family Vineyards.
